Plakatstil Poster
The design movement Plakatstil rejected the decorative style of the earlier movements. It held function as a higher priority than style. Plakatstil delivered a simple message using simplified, deconstructed products made from shapes and bold readable text that was typically the product or company name. Its main characteristic is simplicity, which is achieved by the use of only a few bold colors, implied negative space, an image, and the brand name all designed on a flat background.
Leaf-Cutter Ant Typography Poster
The poster's purpose is to educate the general public on the leaf-cutter ants, specifically how they grow their own food source in underground fungus farms deep within their nest. The poster design was created by using only type. The typeface used is Futura which has a geometric shape that adds a visual representation of the structure and harmony of an ants colony.
